Conceived by artist and photographer Chantae Sudlow, this original design embodies the beauty and prominence of Queen Nefertiti of Kemit (Egypt). Nefertiti was queen alongside Pharaoh Akhenaten from 1353 to 1336 B.C. and may have ruled the New Kingdom outright after her husband’s death. Nefertiti is best known for her painted sandstone bust, which was rediscovered in 1913 and became a global icon of feminine beauty and power (History.com).
This shirt is the second in a three-part collection. Each shirt will illustrate another narrative of a living story, an experience of blackness and the complexities that encompass that reality. To learn more about the artist and to order original paintings, please click here.
Note: These tees and tank tops are unisex and because these are all-over printed products, they may fit slightly looser than other tees sold in our store. For a closer/better fit we recommend that women order one size smaller than their normal size. Minor printing errors (white streaks) are common with all-over print tees. You could say it gives your shirt that extra special look and identity =). Lastly, due to the size and dimensions of the original artwork, some tanks/shirts may show certain parts of the painting more than others. We want to keep as much of the original lay out as possible. Don't worry, your tee/tank will still turn heads!
