There have been countless stories of employers shunning natural hair, racists mocking the beautiful lips and body shapes of black women, and numerous, hateful terms have been used to dishonor the black body.
Today, we declare that we are no longer lesser than. Our black skin is not a blanket of shame. Our melanin is not a curse. We are special and unique and the world will respect it. There is no other option.
